There were celebrations over the weekend following Bath's Premiership Rugby win. Congratulations are in order for Pier Pritchard who was awarded an MBE in The King's Birthday Honours List for her work in Wiltshire Council's children's safeguarding team.

There is a perception that rugby union no longer has the characters of yesteryear, stifled by the advent of professionalism. It is fair to say that Bath’s players, and owner, sought to put that notion to bed on a raucous Sunday night in the West Country.

In terms of key head-to-head stats this season, Bath have scored 100 tries to Leicester’s 75 and have recorded 18 more clean breaks than the Tigers, while also leading in metres made (8,992 to 7,253) and total points scored (685 to 554).

Bath Rugby will be allowed to keep its “eyesore” east stand up on the Recreation Ground throughout summer this year and next — despite neighbours’ claims that it hurts their quality of life.
