TOKYO (AP) — Fast-food chain McDonald’s Japan has canceled a Happy Meal campaign that came with coveted Pokemon cards, apologizing after resellers rushed to buy the meals and then discarded the food, leaving trash outside stores.

McDonald's Japan announced the end of its Pokémon Happy Meals after it noticed resellers dumping food in front of stores to find coveted cards.

The fast food giant unveiled a “fandom fusion of epic proportions” with an exclusive collab called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Hello Kitty and Friends Happy Meal. The Happy Meal includes 12 different figurines, which are a fusion of the characters in a dozen unique toys, as well as character cards revealing their unique skills and story.
