The White House has moved aggressively to withdraw various protections that have allowed immigrants to remain in the country.

President Donald Trump's administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday to intervene in its bid to strip temporary protected status for more than 300,000 Venezuelan migrants, a move that would clear the way for their deportation from the United States.

A federal judge recently blocked the Trump administration from removing migration protections for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan migrants, who would have lost the protections in early April if the judge did not step in.
