Ryan Preece's crash Sunday was the latest in an uptick of cars flipping after wrecks and the second such incident for Preece in two years.

Preece was referring to the wreck he endured on Sunday at Daytona International Speedway: the one where he was knocked in the side by an out-of-control Christopher Bell, into Erik Jones, and up into the air at 190-plus miles per hour — floating and flipping upside down until he crashed into the wall, almost into the fence.

Elton Sawyer, NASCAR’s senior vice president of competition, is looking into the violent wreck involving Ryan Preece at the Daytona 500. On SiriusXM NASCAR Radio this week, Sawyer said NASCAR has begun taking a second look at the Preece car as it went airborne at Daytona for the second time in three years.
