Former Portland Trail Blazer and one-time gubernatorial candidate Chris Dudley is officially running for governor. He announced plans to enter the race Monday morning after months of weighing whether to launch a second bid for Oregon’s highest office.

Two more Republicans have added their names in the race to become Oregon's governor in 2026 -- including a state representative who led a petition against Governor Tina Kotek's transportation bill and a man who was pardoned by President Trump for his alleged role in the January 6 Capitol insurrection.

Two state lawmakers, a Marion County commissioner and a right-wing social media influencer charged for his involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach are among the Republicans running for Oregon governor.

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek has announced that she has appointed Ken Sanchagrin to be the permanent director of the Oregon Public Defense Commission.
