North Carolina wildlife refuge voted one of the best in the U.S.A visitor center for the nature area is located at 14500 NC Highway 12 in Rodanthe and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The refuge itself is open from sunrise to sunset and is open year-round.
