Nicknames are a major component of professional wrestling. When fans hear "Macho Man," they immediately think of Randy Savage. Same goes for the "Million Dollar Man" being Ted DiBiase or "Hitman" being associated with Bret Hart. Even today, "The Ring General" is unmistakably Gunther.

Seth "Freakin" Rollins, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, "Big" Bronson Reed, these wrestlers' nicknames are as much a part of their identities as their ring names, but WWE has seemingly simplified these superstars' monikers.

WWE has opted to change the names of several stars in the last 24 hours. During Vince McMahon's tenure as creative lead, he implemented a policy mandating the inclusion of talent nicknames in their official names.

WWE has previously activated the name changes of certain superstars and have tried to move away from certain gimmicks names to give a more genuine feel for the brand, and in doing so shifted a few names,
