Tim Brown and Burt Myers both grew up at Bowman Gray Stadium, both part of families with rich racing history here. Brown’s earliest memories, he said, date back to when he was 5 or 6 years old, back when he joined Myers and other youngsters to play along the tree-lined pit area

Bowman Gray fan favorite Burt Myers, a local grassroots racing legend, entered the field attempting to make the Cook Out Clash on Saturday. Myers and longtime rival, Tim Brown, synonymous with the 0.25-mile track for success in Modified racing, took part in their Cup Series debuts over the weekend.

For the first time since 1971, the NASCAR Cup Series is back at “the Madhouse” for the 2025 Cook Out Clash. Aside from the Cup regulars, Bowman Gray modified stars Myers and Tim Brown are in the field, representing the local crowd on the biggest stage.
