Detroit thunder rolled across the Circuit de la Sarthe as Cadillac won its first Le Mans pole, a feat last accomplished by a Detroit carmaker in 1967.

Bourdais, who won the 2014 Daytona 24 Hours and has multiple Le Mans podiums to his name, echoed Button’s sentiments and highlighted the need for Cadillac and Jota to continue improving in their pursuit of a World Endurance Championship race victory.

The extension covers the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the WEC, IMSA — and, in a major new addition, the Asian Le Mans Series.
