New Delhi: Delhi NCR woke up to dense fog today as well. However, a slight relief from fog is expected today as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in the region. The rains are expected to be accompanied by chilly winds, intensifying the ongoing cold wave.

The IMD also issued warning for dense to very dense fog conditions during night/early morning hours in some parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and East Uttar Pradesh on January 12 & 13.

As per the Delhi Meteorological Centre, heavy rain is expected today in the National capital and the adjoining areas. The night temperature would also drop further.

Delhi’s temperature has dropped to 12°C with fog covering the city. Cold wave warnings are issued for Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir from December 29 to January 3. Fresh Western Disturbances are expected to bring light rainfall or snowfall from January 1 to 6,

Delhi's weather woes continued on Saturday as the biting cold and dense fog persisted. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has even issued a yellow alert for the national capital, warning people of the possibility of rain amid the cold wave.

Fog reduced visibility to zero in parts of Delhi on Friday as well, leading to more than 100 flights and some trains getting delayed.

Delhi is likely to face heavy rainfall over the weekend, January 11-12. The IMD has also warned that cold wave is likely to return because of the rainfall

Delhi NCR is once again enveloped in dense fog, leading to poor visibility and travel disruptions across the region. The thick blanket of mist has extended throughout northern India, affecting daily commuters and travelers.
