Every new head coach for every team comes in wanting to change the culture. And any head coach worth a damn will have a distinctive idea of what kind of culture he wants to implement as well as how to accomplish it.

Which means the Super Bowl champion Carroll is now the oldest head coach in the league by far. The San Francisco native will turn 74 in September when the 2025 NFL season begins. The next-oldest coach, Andy Reid, will turn 67 in March — assuming he returns to the Chiefs for another year.

In his return to the NFL at age 73, Pete Carroll will set a new league record as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2025. Carroll has already regained his status as the oldest active head coach in the NFL, but once the season begins, he will have a record within reach.
