Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Dustin Tokarski will start Wednesday's tilt against Buffalo. The veteran is getting the nod for the sixth time this campaign and looks to record a fourth consecutive win.

Tokarski stopped 21 of 24 shots in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Sabres. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Buffalo is tied for 12th offensively with 3.02 goals per game, but the Sabres have a woeful 16-22-5 record, which puts them in the Eastern Conference basement.

Frederik Andersen is back, almost. The Carolina Hurricanes are about to awake from what could have been a months-long goaltending nightmare that instead ended up being more of a disconcerting dream, the kind that leaves you slightly restless when you awake.

Dustin Tokarski made 20 saves ... Buffalo held on in the third period. Hurricanes: This is the first time Carolina has lost two in a row since they dropped two straight around the Christmas break at Nashville on Dec. 23 and at New Jersey on Dec. 27.

Ryan McLeod scored his first-career hat trick and the Buffalo Sabres held on for 4-2 win against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday. Dylan Cozens also scored for the Sabres, who have won three of four.

Tokarski was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Friday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Tokarski will head back to the minors now that Frederik Andersen (knee) has been activated off injured reserve.
