Garland had an uncharacteristic night from the charity stripe, going 3-of-8 on free-throw attempts in what ended up being a one-point loss. Garland did lead Cleveland in scoring, however, racking up 26 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field.
It's the second career All-Star nod for Garland and the first for Mobley. They'll join teammate Donovan Mitchell, who was elected as a starter last week.
Coaches selected the reserves after the 10 names for the starters pool were announced last week through a combination of fan voting (50%), media voting (25%) and active player voting (25%).
Cunningham and Mobley were easy picks, while Siakam followed pretty quickly as the Pacers’ most important two-way player. LaVine has been one of the league’s most efficient high-volume scorers and the Bulls have been much better with him on the floor. Two Hawks would be too many, and Jalen Johnson deserves the spot a little more than Trae Young.
