Houston's Kelvin Sampson is The Associated Press Big 12 coach of the year for the second year in a row and Cougars guard LJ Cryer is the league’s top player after another regular-season conference title for the second-ranked program.

Forward Joseph Tugler was named the Big 12's Defensive Player of the Year and guard L.J. Cryer was the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for his performance on the court and in the classroom. Cryer was joined on the All-Big 12 first team by forward J'Wan Roberts.
