Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels always seems to rise to the occasion. For the first time in the 2025 season, Daniels and the Commanders faced another team when Washington shared the field with the New England Patriots in a joint scrimmage on Wednesday.

Backup Marcus Mariota won’t play either since he’s dealing with a lower leg strain, so Josh Johnson and Sam Hartman will run the offense in Friday night’s game at New England.
