Downplaying the incident, on his name being mentioned in the remand report in the Vikarabad Collector attack incident, BRS Working President and MLA KT Rama Rao on 14 said that the case is false and fabricated.

However, the BRS soon released a hand-written letter from the arrested former MLA addressed to the court in which he said the remand report was cooked up by the police and denied that he had given any such confession.

Political tension in Telagana escalated after a former MLA from BRS admitted to have orchestrated the Vikarabad violence. Police report stated that he did so under the instructions of BRS leader KT Rama Rao.
