Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chargers are hiring former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel to take over as offensive coordinator. McDaniel worked with Tua Tagovailoa, the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL draft, and he'll now work with the No. 6 pick, Herbert, in Los Angeles.

Commanders receive good news: Mike McDaniel not going to Eagles
It's been a busy offseason already for the NFC East. The New York Giants hired a new head coach, the Washington Commanders needed two new coordinators, the Philadelphia Eagles needed an offensive coordinator, while the Dallas Cowboys are searching for a defensive coordinator.
To date, McDaniel has interviewed with the Las Vegas Raiders, Cleveland Browns, and the Baltimore Ravens for their vacant head coaching jobs, as well as with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Detroit Lions for their offensive coordinator jobs.
