MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Barbara has strengthened into a hurricane, the first of the eastern Pacific hurricane season.

A man is dead, two people, including a 4-year-old, are in critical condition, and one woman has unknown injuries after homemade fireworks possibly caused an explosion at a home Saturday.
