CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said somebody intentionally set a fire to city hall over the weekend. The arson attempt happened on Friday at about 11 p.m., according to the mayor. Johnson said that security footage shows as the suspect started a fire outside the building before running off.
It will likely cost Chicago taxpayers approximately $52 million in interest to borrow that money and pay off during the next five years, according to estimates provided to the Chicago City Council by Chief Financial Officer Jill Jaworski.
