After closing its doors for good in October, the new owner of Gillian's Wonderland Pier has plans to build a new hotel called "Icona in Wonderland."

The hotel would be called "ICONA in Wonderland," a roughly $135 to $155 million investment, the Jersey shore developer said.

A developer is planning to bring a new purpose to a shuttered and iconic amusement park on the Ocean City boardwalk, according to reports. Wonderland Pier owner Eustace Mita said he wants to create a 252-room hotel on the site of the theme park that closed in October,
