The NFL kicked off its preseason with the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Detroit Lions in Canton, Ohio, on Thursday. The Chargers won 34-7, with Chargers quarterback Trey Lance throwing two touchdown passes.

However, the Detroit Lions likely wish they could have hit the restart button against the Los Angeles Chargers after an incredibly sloppy opening half that included three turnovers in the first quarter.

Lance was extremely efficient in the first half against Detroit's defense, particularly when targeting rookie KeAndre Lambert-Smith. He finished the first half 9-of-12 for 97 yards and two scores, with touchdown passes to Lambert-Smith and Will Dissly.
