Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected on Wednesday in Chicago, with the possibility of severe conditions at night. The day starts with morning downpours and hail, which could affect the morning commute. Temperatures reach the upper 60s, near 70 degrees, with gusty winds outside of storms.

A tornado warning was issued in northwest Indiana and most Chicago-area counties saw severe thunderstorm warnings on an eventful Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says strong to severe weather will impact the Chicago area from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, but the threat has diminished for some parts of northern Illinois. A flood advisory is in effect for the southern half of Cook County, and most of Will County and Lake County, Indiana, until 4:45 p.m.
