Comet 46P/Wirtanen Passing Close to Earth

I took the opportunity of an evening callout and a clear sky, to get some images of comet 46P/Wirtanen. But ... I'd describe the outcome as underwhelming. In short: if you were hoping for a great comet, this was never going to be the one, and while dedicated amateur astronomers have been able to take some great photos from dark sites, here in suburbia it's been hard to see at all.
