I’m a 2nd year student at WesternU Dental School. Today in Sim Lab, I completed a 4 MOD composite on a patient with extensive recurrent caries under an old restoration. I started by removing the existing restoration and cleaning out all the decay to make sure only healthy tooth structure remained. I used a 330 diamond bur to create and refine the prep, then a flame bur to smooth out the walls.
