As a Jewish person, it’s frustrating to me to see all of the ways that Jewish history could have gone differently: when Ben-Gurion was still in Poland he was organizing in direct opposition to the Jewish Bund, a socialist and anti-Zionist group, when Palestine was a British Mandate his party could have advocated for an independent and bi-national state, etc. I feel like when I learned this story, the creation of Israel as a Jewish state was almost treated as inevitable, but the more you learn ab
