This is not talked about enough (no pun intended, I swear 😫😩)! Aphasia can be one of the most misunderstood symptoms associated with dementia and/or a stroke. Sometimes the information is still THERE, the brain just can’t ACCESS the right words or make sense of the language coming in. Someone with EXPRESSIVE aphasia may know exactly what they want to say but can’t find the words. Someone with RECEPTIVE aphasia may hear the words you’re saying but struggle to understand their meaning. Slow down
