Dobos Torta ~ seven layers of individually baked sponge cakes layered with a creamy decadent chocolate buttercream. The Dobos Torta has Hungarian origin and was one of the fashion desserts of the 19th century. It was made famous by Chef Josef C. Dobos in 1884. It is often topped with a layer of caramel but I chose to leave the caramel off.
