Today we've published the Scottish Pollutant Release Inventory (SPRI) for 2024. Greenhouse gas emissions from Scotland's largest industrial facilities were down by almost a quarter compared with 2019. Greenhouse gas emissions from all SEPA-regulated industrial facilities fell by 3.85% compared with 2023 - the equivalent of taking around 210,000 petrol cars off the road for a year. Our climate is changing, bringing an increased risk of flooding to our local communities. In December 2012, the village of Edzell was devasted by flooding from a local burn causing over £1 million in damage. As a result, the community formed the Edzell Flood Group who now lead the way in flood resilience.
