Grunion, mating, season! (Grunion Run) From about March to August, when the moon and the tide are just right. These 6 inch fish crawl and flop out of the Pacific Ocean onto the sandy beaches of Southern California. They to lay eggs in the sand, mate and the crawl back into the ocean.
