PNGDF Skills At Arms Meeting (SAAM) is conducted annually to enhance operational capability. It is a combat-focused skill-at-arms competition that involves the current in service small arms systems used by the PNGDF, with participants competing at both individual and unit levels. The Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) has commenced operations using a new Bell 412 helicopter. Helicopters are critical for the PNGDF to complete training and operational tasks across the diverse and rugged terrain of PNG.
